What is a copay?

The fixed cost you pay for each visit is called a copay. Your insurance provider determines it, which may even be shown on your policy card. (Remember that psychiatrists are regarded as "specialists" by most plans.)

For example: Assume that your copay is $49 (and that you’ve already met your deductible if you have one). Each time you visit a specialist, you’ll just pay $49.
